FAQ’S Q: How do I "Fine Tune" my DieselPower® Module? A: The PD Modules we recommend settings B or C. Higher settings can be experimented with and adjusted to suit your individual driving style. When using the modules on the highest maximum settings it is recommended and beneficial to ease off on the throttle slightly at higher RPM'S to allow the engine to remain in the "Sweet Spot" of maximum torque. A: The CR Module can be easily adjusted by starting off in the lower settings and turning the dial clockwise. The values start at 0-9 and the from A-F with F being maximum gain. When under full acceleration the engine fails to respond turn the dial back 2 notches counter-clockwise. During periods of high ambient temperatures it may be necessary to turn the dial back one or two settings. A: The Digi Z Module for 1996-2003 VW TDI'S can be adjusted clockwise for more power until the engine fails to respond and the backed off 1 or 2 notches clockwise for best drivability and performance. A: The Digi VP can also be adjusted up to the point where the engine fails to respond, at this point decrease the setting 2 levels back.
A: The VW TDI airflow meters tend to go bad over time and give a rough signal at the #5 terminal on the MAF. The easiest installation of the AGR Z4 is to take the signal from this #5 wire. If the MAF is bad the AGR Z4 will tend to magnify the jerky performance. In this case we recommend taking the signal from the throttle pedal potentiometer. This wire is white/blue tracer and is located at the throttle pedal. This white/blue wire has .30 volts key on engine off and will increase up to 4.6 volts in smooth increments as accelerator is depressed. A: No, this is not normal.VW TDI'S have been plaqued with deposits of oil and soot building up in the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system and the intake manifold. This build-up will severely restrict the free flow of air that is required for the engine to run at peak efficiency. The result of this will be excess smoke, poor fuel economy and low power output. The EGR and intake manifold should be inspected and cleaned on a regular basis. |
DieselPower® North America DieselPower® only makes tuning modules for diesels. They choose to specialize in diesel technology and as a result they have developed a quality product that is TUV and CE certified. Diesel Power has sold nearly 400,000 units worldwide with many being installed on the Volkswagen TDI. There are differences between the European and North American VW but in general they share many common systems. Diesel Power reports no long term effects when using their Digi PD Tuning Module on the TDI. DieselPower® makes products for all late model diesels found in Canada, USA and Australia. DieselPower® tuning modules were designed to increase overall horsepower and torque while still maintaining or increasing your fuel efficiency. Modules come complete with the plug and play wiring harness, which plugs directly into the factory style connectors without any damage or tell-tale signs. Our modules were designed with extreme care so that all engine safety measures are still in place. Under normal operating conditions these units will NOT trip the check engine light. Unlike other manufacturers of diesel performance products
our products achieve their power gains by strictly altering the fuel injection
timing and duration. Beware of other products whose gains are achieved
by increasing turbo charger boost pressures.
